Ian’s life was all about basketball. This 6 foot 4 inch player strived each day to be the best. In 2008, while Ian was practicing, he felt pain in both of his knees, and that pain changed the course of his life. Five years later, Ian suffered another injury while playing basketball. This time he fell and landed on his hip. The fall left him in a lot of pain, and unable to run or exercise. Ian went through PT at other facilities, and he even considered becoming a physical therapist at one point. Ian shared that he enjoys Performance PT the most, “This clinic doesn’t feel superficial in the way that people are genuinely pleasant people and the atmosphere is comfortable. There are people laughing and talking. It’s a good vibe.”
As a student at Sac State, Ian’s life is full of studying and reading — he even reads while on the bike during his physical therapy appointments! He is dedicated to his PT goals, as well as his pursuit to becoming a middle school English teacher. Ian shows us his dedication to his health and in his studies. It brings us great pride to think about him teaching youth in our community because when we do, we see the future full of literary champions!
Lets wish Ian the best with his PT goal of living a pain-free life and in his future to becoming an English teacher.
Best of luck, and thank you for sharing your story Ian!
