A Few Reasons Why We Love Our Patients

At Performance Physical Therapy, our main goal is to treat all patients with compassionate and effective care during their rehabilitation. Each and every day, our patients make our clinics come to life with their stories, laughter, and commitment to recovery.  Sometimes, patients even surprise our clinics with treats! In honor of Valentine’s Day, we wanted to share some of the love we have for our patients!

Our patients become a part of our daily lives

Dr. Megan Self, PT, DTP and Roseville Clinic Director shared, “The passion I have for physical therapy truly comes from the interpersonal connections I make, and being a part of someone’s rehabilitation process. The most rewarding aspect, without a doubt, is seeing a patient achieve their goals.” She also added, “… I did not expect that I would become so attached to my patients. It’s great to see them achieve their goals and discharge, but it’s hard to see them leave! They become part of our daily life.”

The relationships formed with patients is the most rewarding aspect of working in Physical Therapy

“My favorite aspect of working as a Physical Therapist Assistant is getting to know each patient while helping them in all aspects of their recovery…Being injured is never fun, but hopefully, the relationships we form with our patients make their therapy experience much more enjoyable and fun!” –  Jennifer O’ Toole, Physical Therapist Assistant at our Sacramento Location

It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to our patients!

Dr. Shannon Zalewski PT, DPT explained, “…physical therapy is a unique career which allows me to spend the time to get to know the patient and to be able to treat people as a whole. The most rewarding aspect [of being a physical therapist] is getting to build personal relationships with people, and then guiding them on the way to recover to allow them to achieve their goals in returning to their hobbies or jobs. I view discharging people from therapy as bittersweet. Bitter because we must say goodbye to them at that point, but so sweet as they have accomplished their goals.”

Seeing our patients recover makes our whole day

“This is my favorite place to be! 🙂 I love working with each and every human being from co-workers, caretakers, and patients! I enjoy making true connections and sharing happy heart moments.  Oh my, it is special seeing these amazing rock star patients get stronger and improving to where they want to be.  Seeing their smiles and spirits shine just light up the room. I get excited to spend my time listening, learning, caring and laughing with each one of them!” – Katie, an amazing Patient Service Coordinator at the Rancho Cordova Clinic
